Heidi & Coyo

Dog Owner, Client

Speaker: Heidi

I met Adam through, basically, Westside. I started off with my dog, Coya. He's two years old, and there was a point where he needed a lot of help—not only him, but I did too. It all started off with a bite. He unfortunately bit someone, and it got to the point that I had to put a muzzle on him. I was very anxious every time I would walk outside my apartment, every time we would walk by a person. That's when I knew that I had to do something. And I reached out to Westside. I looked at their website and saw Adam’s contact information. Once I got in contact with Adam, he was amazing. He gave me a lot of hope. I started off very anxious and not sure how this would turn out. But once he assured me that he would help me, everything changed. The first session, he actually came to my apartment, and he walked out with Coya, walked nearby people, in front of people, to the point that he literally took the muzzle off him, in like 30 minutes or even less. So, I am very grateful for him.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here’s what dog owners ask us most before getting started.

We understand how frustrating leash pulling can be. It can turn a peaceful walk into a tug-of-war. Dogs often pull because they're excited or haven't been taught how to walk politely. We use positive reinforcement techniques to teach your dog that walking calmly by your side leads to rewards and enjoyable experiences. With patience and consistency, we can transform your walks into pleasant bonding times.

Potty training a puppy requires consistency, patience, and understanding. We recommend establishing a regular schedule for feeding and bathroom breaks, closely supervising your puppy, and praising them enthusiastically when they eliminate in the appropriate spot. Accidents will happen, but it's important to avoid punishment and instead focus on positive reinforcement to guide your puppy towards the desired behavior.

Excessive barking can stem from various causes such as boredom, fear, or territorial behavior. The first step is to identify the underlying reason for the barking. Once we understand the cause, we can employ strategies like desensitization, teaching the "quiet" command, and ensuring your dog has sufficient mental and physical stimulation to address the issue effectively.
